I’m an avid collector of automatic time pieces, especially diver watches but always worry about wearing them and exposing them to the hazards of my job. So I began the hunt for a “realistic” everyday watch that could handle being exposed to knocks, chemicals, and impacts without breaking the bank. Enter the G-Shock line of watches! I’m going to make this a simple review:

The G-Shock Watch Worth Waiting For.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about this watch. I’ve wanted a G-Shock forever but the more inexpensive ones seemed to lacked the features I wanted and the more expensive ones were just out of the price range I’d pay for a plastic/digital watch. This on was right on the money. For a hair under a hundred dollars I was able to nab this one.

Good watch

I work hard in commercial/industrial construction so exposure to elements and harsh environment is on daily basis. In other words I bet the $&@& out of it. The original bracelet gave up after around 3 years, also decorative screws on the face fell out. The mineral crystal has got some light scratches, case as well.

I’ve wanted a solar atomic watch for a while and had decided on the Seiko Astron before I happened upon this watch. I’m glad I did because this watch has everything I wanted and more. I have an 8-inch wrist and the resin band is long enough to buckle at the center, not off to the side like most watches do for guys with big wrists. There are two small flaps, one on each end of the band, that keep the watch centered on your wrist, a feature I was unsure about but now really like. The resin band is smooth and flexible, and the watch is very comfortable to wear.

GREAT, DURABLE WATCH!!!

I need a tide watch, I’m constantly at the beach and i like to get a general idea of what’s going on with the tides and ensuing water lines… All watermen/fisherman know this effects currents, surf, and even fishing conditions… Hence… I love getting a good laugh watching people lay there stuff too close to the water line on a low tide… (I’m a lifeguard)… I’ve searched high and low for the best tide watch, and after breaking 3 nixons, and1 Vestal watch i decided to go back to my old roots and pick up another g-shock, sacrifice a little bit of accuracy for more durability…

Great Negative Display Gshock!

I received this in the mail from Amazon last week. Great watch at a great price. Let me first say lm not a big fan of negative display watches. I have over 30 Gshocks and 4 Protreks. Now this one is the 2nd one l own. I also have the Gwx 6900 gshock. Which is a great watch to. This watch is Atomic Solar Powered. That means you never have to set the time, or change batteries. Set it once and that’s it. This watch is really compfortable on yourWrist. I have 3 different models like this from the Rescue series. I have the g7900-1 which is a great watch but runs on a battery. I also have the gw7900-1 both have positive display. The Gw 7900-1 is Atomic Solar Powered to. This is the watch that a lot of Navy Seals wear. Also the watch is perfect for a every day watch. So if your looking for a watch with negative display that you can see. Buy this. The watch has a great back light for night time use. I have all kinds of Gshocks. I have the Rangeman gshock which is a great, great watch. I have the King GXW56-1BJF gshock. I have 4 Mudman gshocks 2 Gulfman gshocks. The gwm5610-1 and the gw6900-1vgshock and way to many more to mention. I have been wearing gshocks for almost 34 years, since the first one came out in 1983. So l have a lot of experience when it comes to Gshocks. This is a great watch for any wrist size. I have a 7 inch wrist and it fits perfect. So if you want a watch with negative display than look no further. You can buy a better watch for the price under $100.00. Buy it now before the price goes up. Make sure you buy it at Amazon. I bought 12 gshocks from them in the last year. Amazon always has what your looking for. I’m a Prime Member. 2 day delivery guarantee. Enjoy the watch or any other gshock watch you buy. Just remember if you like gshocks. Once you buy one you will probably want to buy more gshocks. Because they have so many different types. To meet all your activities. From swimming, snorkeling, diving, hiking, bike riding. They have gshocks for casual or for formal wear. Gshocks are the best watch money can buy in my opinion.

My Everyday Wear Watch – The Best One Yet

Overall, I like this watch. I like the feature that it is solar powered since I am in sun light so much and I like the atomic time updates keeping the time in sync. There are two things I don’t like about the watch, though. First, I was torn between purchasing a watch that provided lunar and tide information versus sun rise/set times and went with the tide info. I wish I had gone with the other. Yes, the tide information is presented, but I’m not sure it is all that usable for my particular needs. The second thing is the contrast of the number display on the dark face. My job/lifestyle sort of demands that I have a black faced watch. I do like the soft glow back light when I need to see the display in the dark whether I press the button to use the light or have it on automatic. During the day and even in well lighted rooms the display is easy to see but when the room darkens a little or the angle is not quite right to reflection available light, the display can be difficult to read. At these times I am forced to press the button, therefore, using two hands to see what time it is. Leaving the automatic light display on all the time will use more battery plus the display can be lighted when it would be inconvenient for it to do so. On my older G-Shock watch, I could adjust the contrast through the settings to make viewing of the display a little easier. If this watch had that capability, I would have rated it a five.
