An amazing value. I got it to replace a Chromebook with a failing screen that I use for email away from my office. I do most of my photo work on a Windows 7 Lenovo five years old, and did not expect this HP to do any heavy lifting, but found it faster and more powerful than the Lenovo. I learned from another review not to expand the memory but just got a 64g USB drive (a tiny Sandisk that Amazon offers with it) for extra storage. I expected to take that reviewer’s recommendation to install a Windows 7 emulator but found I can live with Windows 10, just cleaning up the start screen of unwanted program tiles and building my own splash screen, like Windows 7’s. The trackpad is so good that I do without a mouse.

It’s $200 and is amazing for the price

It’s $200 and is amazing for the price. It has an SD card slot and usb so adding storage is no problem. It’s like a chrome book but with more utility. It doesn’t feel slow and is easy to use (once you get all the settings to your liking). This isn’t a gaming computer even though it seems to play games just fine. It starts fast and wakes up almost instantly. The screen is crisp and clear, not as bright as some may need but it’s bright enough for me. It is heavy though at 3 lbs 12.2 oz, I feel that for something with so little storage it should be a pound lighter. No big deal. The keyboard is nice and I wouldn’t expect more out of it. The track pad is not quite as nice but when you change the settings to your liking it’s much more manageable, but get a mouse for general use. This is a must buy for anyone who wants a chrome book but needs a Windows interface. I use this strictly for Facebook, general webpage maintenance and light gaming. This is all coming from a Mac guy and this is the first Windows computer I have ever bought. I will update if it becomes a slow unusable laptop like others have posted.

Appears to be upgradable.

Haven’t used it yet. First thing I did was check to see if ram is expandable and hdd upgradable. Looks like yes to both as neither are soldered to board. I’m not sure where you get that kind of hdd though. It has an extra slot for a 2nd sick of ram too. Looks like you could add an optical drive if you are willing to modify the case by cutting into the plastic.

Works for me with Windows 10 Creators Update installed

Great computer for the price. Upgradable, relatively light and fast. I added ram and 240 gb ssd and this computer works like a charm. The screen is good. There’s certainly some light bleed in the screen but fhd makes it worth it. The processor is not bad, seems to do everyday task without any hiccup and heat.

I wanted something cheap but reliable for searching the internet. If you are into downloading a lot of music or pictures or gaming then I am not sure if you want this computer. I wanted something fast for searching the internet for fantasy football, checking email and simple internet stuff like that – however I did not want a tablet. So seeing this was HP i tested my luck with this. I figured for $200 what do I have to lose. And it does everything I want. Internet runs fast and the computer does too. So if you want something to just pop open to play around online then this is the computer you want for the price. you can tell the body is on the cheap side but the computer runs well. Comes with windows 10 meaning comes with anti virus protection too.
