New to Chromebooks, but becoming a convert. Acer packs value into a small package

I want to give a brief background of where I’m coming from and what I think about the new Acer Chromebook 11. In the past I have owned a Thinkpad laptop, a Dell notebook with a touchscreen and pen, and a couple of tower desktop computers. I have also owned two Android devices. These days I mostly use an Ipad for web browsing and apps, and a desktop for word processing, printing, Microsoft office needs, the occasional game, etc. I needed something at my work that was small and light and did not need a lot of computing power. I didn’t want to spend much money. After hearing about Chromebooks for a while, I did as much research as I could and decided a Chromebook fit the bill.

Fantastic, capable little laptop.

This review is for the clamshell model, NOT the flip model.

The best there is… in the budget category

First off, I have to say that after using this laptop for about two weeks I really love it. It took a little time to grow on me, it has a few quirks and design decisions that are… questionable. And I’ll be up front and say that I haven’t tested the microphone, so I don’t know if it has any flaws. I don’t usually use my laptop for video chatting. But overall, I’m very satisfied with this laptop.

LOVE IT

I love this chrome book. I don’t need to do anything crazy on a computer and was just looking for a small laptop to go on the internet and do some blogging. This is perfect for my needs and connects super fast. I love the keyboard it’s easy to type on. The screen is on the smaller size, it’s a compact laptop so if you want something a little bigger buy the next size up. But for me it’s perfect. It’s really lightweight too and easily transportable. It doesn’t get hot. The battery lasts forever. I LOVE IT. Plus it was very affordable. I am really starting to like the google chrome operating system as I can access my stuff from anywhere and even save pics from my phone to google drive and boom I got on my drive on my chromebook and there they are. No fussing trying to email myself stuff , then download it etc. I am not computer savvy at all and I figured out the google service and cloud stuff pretty easily.

… been changed to hot keys for refresh and other useful shortcuts. Though the F keys are important on …

This is my second purchase of a Chromebook but the first purchase of an Acer. (The first Chromebook is a Samsung and is still working just fine.) For us, Chromebooks are just so much easier to use when you just want to plop down on the sofa and do the typical internet type activities than a PC is. They’re light weight, quiet, stay cool, and start up in seconds. I love the google replacement “office” apps but you can also work with the MS files too.

Awesome computer! BIG value in such a small package

Wow! I love this device. Especially now with the ability to launch Android apps this does everything I need it to. I didn’t think the fact it was convertible would be a big deal, but I really love using it for different purposes in different positions. Chrome OS still has a few rough edges and gaps, but luckily Android fills in almost all of them. Fast and easy to use.
