Great for astrophotography

I got this camera to take pictures of space. I wasn’t disappointed. A relatively inexpensive DSLR, and it still does absolutely everything I need. My only gripe is that the battery takes a long time to charge, and then doesn’t last all that long. It’s a refurbished camera, so maybe that’s a factor. I also subject the poor thing to long periods of continuous use in cold outdoor temperatures, so take from that what you will. I will include some of my best photos taken with this camera – and with a bit of processing applied to them, of course. The images speak for themselves what this thing is capable of.

This is a great camera at an amazing price to get started in photography. A very good place to start if you are trying to get beyond the capabilities of a point and shoot. It still has very capable auto modes with options to switch various settings to manual as you learn more about what those settings are and what they do. How many times have you tried to take a picture through a window with a cheap camera only to find that the auto focus zeroed in on the dirty glass rather than the subject on the other side? With this you can switch to manual focus in a situation like that and get a perfect shot. And that’s just one of many advantages of a camera that, while it can do all the thinking for you, it allows you to make your own decisions and over-ride as well.
Great camera, especially for the price

Bought this for my wife as an early birthday present. She has some photography ambitions but not a lot of professional experience and we found this, which has the potential to be very high-level (SLR so can switch out lenses and whatnot), but the auto settings allow her to take great pictures right now. She absolutely loves it and it takes awesome pictures.
Awesome camera especially for the price.

This camera is everything I need as a non professional photographer. It has a built in flash, a variable lens, every shooting mode that its professional sibling, the 6D, has. The quality of the photographs is fantastic. I use it to shoot my kids everywhere we go. The price for this digital camera is fantastic considering its features and quality. If you’re not a professional, and you were planning on getting some 500 dollar plus camera, consider this instead.
… my first professional camera and so far I am happy with this camera

This is my first professional camera and so far I am happy with this camera. It’s not super heavy and the photos are clear and look professional without requiring a lot of fiddling with settings. The lens isn’t as good with close ups as I wanted but I think it’d be easy to get a different lens for that specifically.
Refurbished Camera Looks and Works Like New!

I purchased the refurbished Canon EOS T5 (including the standard kit lens.) I was a little nervous buying refurbished from a company I was not familiar with but they were certified by Amazon so I went ahead and bit the bullet. I’m so glad I did! When my camera arrived it looked completely brand new! The only difference was that it came in a canon powershot box instead of the original dslr box. Everything was wrapped securely in bubble wrap to ensure safety while shipping, which was a nice touch. So far everything is working great! This is my first DSLR and I can say that it is awesome for beginners!
Great Beginner Camera
This is an excellent camera. I was slightly hesitant to buy this because it was refurbished, but it came in brand new condition. Not a scratch or a ding on it. It is very user friendly. Still playing around with it, but have taken some excellent photos with it already. Has automatic settings, and manual settings for when you get more comfortable with the camera. I also bought a standard 50mm lens to go with this camera.
Excellent first DSLR for graduates of point-and-shoot cameras

If you’re looking to upgrade from point and shoot cameras to DSLR, you can’t go wrong with the Rebel T5. For years I have put off purchasing a “real” semi-professional camera. I’m so glad I decided to get this one. I arrived in an OEM box with everything as you would expect, just like new from the factory. There were no scratches or signs of wear on the camera body or the accessories.

This is my new toy! I have loved it. I am still learning it but have loved the pictures I have been able to get so far.
